The first thing to do is to download a new BlackBerry OS and save it on your Desktop. In order to see what version you currently running head over to the Options icon on your home screen and press the About link. The version of your OS is determined by a series of numbers starting with V and follow by a number.

Another quick shortcut to do this is pressing Alt, Shift and the letter H on your keyboard.

The best way to get the latest OS for your phone is to download it from current carrier. We often publish leaked versions of OS’s but in case you know what you doing we don’t recommend it. If you decide to install these leaked version please do at your own risk and always, always, remember to backup your information before you do so.

Another good tip would be to set your phone to a default theme since using third-party themes when installing a new OS may cause the new OS to not work properly.

4) Run the new BlackBerry OS Setup.

Close all applications you’re currently running on your PC and run your new OS .exe. Remember to have your BlackBerry connected via de USB cord. Follow the step by hitting next.

The installation will then start searching for available upgrades, once you find the OS you were looking for click to Update now. Make sure the Backup Device Data Automatically box is checked during the installation process and continue.

To end you will see a summary page. This page explain that your device needs to be activated wirelessly and register with your carrier once your new OS is installed. (happens automatically). After reading that hit finish.

If you decided by any chance to downgrade your OS system, download it to your PC and launch the .exe file as described above. You should now be all set with your new OS. Enjoy!
